Olivia Anne Wright

Wednesday, August 29th, was quite a day. We awoke early to get to the hospital for Amy's induction. When we arrived we had to wait a bit because there were no rooms available - I attribute this to the full moon and lunar eclipse. While waiting we got to eat breakfast in the new Dining Center (whatever happened to the good, old Cafeteria?) and read exciting articles in National Geographic.
Once Amy was put into a room, hooked up to the IV's and ready to rock, the power for the entire hospital - and Northwest I might add - went out. It was crazy. I was down stairs heading to the parking lot to retrieve something, I can't remember what. Using my Navy Seal wherewithal, I scaled back up the stairs to the third floor to comfort my seemingly helpless bride. While I thought she might be freaking out because of the blackout, I found her chatting with the nurse about something unrelated to the wonders of electricity. But, at least I made it back before the storm troopers forbade entrance or departure on the third floor.
Once power was restored to the hospitals and the surrounding area, they re-started Amy's IV drip and labor ensued.
A few hours later we met our precious Olivia Anne. Some numbers:
Born - August 29th, 2007, 6:17 pm. 8 lb. 9 oz. 20 in.
