One of the first times I visited Florida, it rained A LOT. The locals were complaining and I just could not understand their complaints. Growing up in the Texas panhandle sure makes a person appreciate the wet stuff. Well, after nearly two years, I can sort of understand how one might get tired of always walking around with an umbrella. I mean, we don't live in Seattle. Isn't Florida called The Sunshine State?
Well, rain was in the forecast for today and I can tell you that I was super excited for it. It's been pretty "dry" around here lately. I say "dry" because the dirt actually still stays on the ground when the wind blows.
Anyway, my boys enjoyed the rain as much as I did today.
They are probably trying to figure out how to plant their umbrellas in the dirt. They are always trying to plant something, much to Jay's dismay.

This made me laugh. He opened the umbrella and smacked himself in the face. Don't worry, he was just fine. He's just so clumsy--one of those run into the wall as he looks over his shoulder types. I wonder where he gets that?
Another laughing moment. Isaac decided to fold his umbrella up while he was out in the rain. He was drenched by the time he finally got the strap snapped closed.
This is a very long branch that Josiah colored with chalk yesterday. He was so disappointed that the rain washed off his artwork.

Ok, now I'm all caught up!! I loved reading all your blogs! I am jealous of your relationship with your grandma--I never had one that I was really that close to--maybe my mom's mom, but she died when I was in grade 9. I cannot believe how OLD Isaac looks. He's so grown up. Just seeing Olivia makes me smile--I can just see her feistyness. And that Josiah--what a kid. I sure wish our kids could play together. You never know when we might surprise you one day in Florida. Or you guys could come up here for a big ski trip--I know how much you love the cold.

I'm also all caught up and can I just say that I am SO jealous of all of your great adventure places there. The beach. Live music. Sounds so lovely. However, I am a bit sad about the Taurus. I wouldn't even recognize Jay now :) I also love Isaac's big boy legs in those shorts. He is so handsome!
Rain....!! I will forever have Texas Panhandle mentality. Probably because I will live here forever. haha! But I love seeing your rain! And a nice, gentle rain that your kids can actually use umbrellas and go out and play in!!! Soak some up for us! :)
