ZOO!!

We had such a great day today at the Jacksonville Zoo. We've heard all about it and finally ventured out today with some of our friends. Not only were there lots of different animals to admire, the landscaping was beautiful all throughout the zoo. This morning was nice and cool, and we made it out right before the rain began.

Waiting to see the animals.

I can't remember what these are called (They were on the "Africa Loop"). They were so beautiful and almost didn't look real.

Olivia's favorite animal
She made the elephant noise the whole time she watched it.

the big kids

climbing a rock

The babies...
(I think they were discussing hair bows.)

my baby and a baby giraffe
This was my favorite animal. The zoo staff sold lettuce and people were feeding the giraffes out of their hands. It was so fun to watch. The giraffes were actually close to us, but this baby wandered off.

We kept sticking Olivia next to the animals so that we could have a reason to take a picture. :)

We had to try out the carousel. Jay was proud that he got a picture with everyone looking.

Olivia under the bamboo.

The boys checking out the Komodo Dragon. I think they were disappointed to not find a fire breathing creature...it was just a big lizard.

Olivia, enjoying being out of the stroller.

I just wanted one picture of all three under the bamboo. No one cared about what I wanted.

Then I asked them to jump, so "goofy" came right on out. I'm not sure about Olivia, though. I think she may have been ready for her nap.

Isaac pretended to be terrified of the alligator.

Josiah pretended to conquer the alligator.

Deer prints! It was fun at one exhibit (the "Florida Loop") because in front of each cage, prints of the animal were in the concrete.

Until next time, Jacksonville Zoo.

I'm surprised that Livie let you set her next to all those animals! Isaac looks so big w/ those sunglasses hanging off his shirt. And Josiah looks like a great conqueror! (No one ever cared what I thought when I was taking pics either)

AHHH - We spent our day at the zoo as well, Cincinnati. We too made it out just before the rain. The boys love the zoo. Our favorite today was getting to see the Cheetahs run - so fast.

I love the bamboo arch.

Zoo's are always so much fun for the whole family! Prints in the concrete - great idea! And your baby is definitely cuter than their babies! (:

LOve her shirt BTW!

How fun! We LOVE the zoo! I do have a question from your last post...What curriculum are you using?

Mom- Liv would have climbed through the glass if we'd have let her. She was having a blast. I know! Isaac has been acting and looking so grown up lately. *sigh* Josiah loved posing for me. I have lots of great shots on the computer. haha

Jean- It is a really great zoo. When it gets cooler, I think we will be there a lot. We'll have to take you next time you come out. :)

Mendi- Haha...that reminds me. Josiah (I have lovingly renamed him "The Town Crier" because he is so LOUD! Wonder where he gets that from?? haha) saw a leopard and yelled out, "Isaac! Come here! Look at the Cheeter! Look at the Cheeter, Isaac!" We all got a big kick out of that one.

Dawn- That giraffe was adorable, but I'll have to agree. Liv is a little cuter.

Kedra- I use Sonlight curriculum. I'm trying out a new math this year called Singapore math. I'll have to let you know what I think about it. But I LOVE Sonlight.

Ah! I am actually waiting on my sonlight catalog to come in the mail. may wait until kindergarten (next year) to actually make that BIG purchase. ;) I have heard that it is great. I may have to give you a phone call on the specifics sometime.

Very nice zoo! I used to love taking the kids to the Calgary zoo. We always went early morning on weekdays, when no one else was there and the kids ran from exhibit to exhibit! They learn so much!
