A Day In My Shoes

9:00
School begins.
Usually the kids have clothes on. I promise.

10:00
Wright Olympic Ceremony
(We are studying Ancient Greece.)

Isaac won gold in the triple jump.
(He's singing the national anthem. He knows the song from me singing around the house like an opera star. Pretty good teaching, huh? haha)

Olivia- gold in "flying jump"

Josiah-gold in long jump

11:30
Nature Hunt (Thanks, Kayla!)

Olivia's stash

Isaac's find

Josiah's proud pile

12:20
turtle found in yard

12:21
Olivia thinks the turtle needs to read a book.

Josiah loved that turtle.

12:50
Isaac reads to Josiah

1:15
Olivia napping while boys try out the "tornadoes" we made today. The "tornadoes" were a flop.

1:17
This, of course, was a lot more fun than playing with a dud science experiment.

Let 'er fly!

smelled like watermelon...
And Josiah is the one that sniffed first. One more drug dog in the family. :)

cheap fun

1:45
off to make bead designs

2:30
swim time

2:45
snacks!

3:00
I sent the boys off to their room to find something quiet to do. This is what I walked in to find.

3:45
?

4:00
gifts from Gee in the mail...and boys on the phone with her

4:30
Here's an idea...football OUTSIDE instead of in bedroom.

serious about football

4:45
Daddy!

love these clouds...I should know what type of cloud this is since I just studied about them with Isaac. I wonder if he knows...probably not!

5:00
Liv awake from nap...snack time!

6:00
off to Alpha at church...

9:00
Home
spotted a HUGE rat in the front yard
...kids awake until 9:45 from fear of rat...

Amy, I couldn't walk in your shoes for a day. I'll send a tornado bottle, actually, it's a connector for two 2 liter bottles. Ancient Greece---I'm impressed. Gee, I love the Borger Bulldogs football shirts. All the pics are fabulous!

Amy, I loved this post! I wish we lived closer so we could do nature walks together. Your neck of the woods looks much more interesting than ours! How did Liv win in the "Flying Jump"? That's kind of scary... Beware: I'm probably going to copy your post soon. Such a great way to remember what we do! Love you!

This is such an awesome post!! I love the day timeline!!! Very fun!! I'm so jealous that you can do the nature hunt in your BACKYARD!!! How cool is that!!
BTW, has anyone said that Josiah looks like your younger brother...?? Cause there is one picture in here that I think looks just like him!!!!

So funny! I love it! I want to go to Wright Elementary.

As We Are said...

Wow, I have missed SO much on your blog! I had to read for a while to catch up. You are doing such a great job homeschooling!!! Super Mom! I agree with the others, our nature walks are not near as fun here. But I thought of you today when Kyle said he heard about the terantulas (sp?) coming out!

Cumulus clouds, right? Please say I'm right. Hudson and I LOVE going for nature walks--he likes to make "crafts" from the things he finds--on the kitchen table of course. Good thing I also have a Dinning Room table that doesn't get wrecked!

Mindy- It is fun. I take a lot of deep breaths...but it's fun. :) And I want to look back one day and know that I really enjoyed it while I had it.

Mom- I loved those long naps. They lasted for about 2 weeks. *sigh*

Jean- Yes, the experiment did call for a 2 liter bottle but for some reason I figured that water bottles would work just fine. I was wrong. But we don't drink sodas so I never have 2 liter bottles. Oh well. We're on to volcanoes now!! Let the fun begin!! :)

Lindsey- Liv won the "Flying Jump" by me holding onto her hands and lifting her in the air while she jumped. haha We had to do it over, and over, and over, and over again. And, yes, why can't we live by each other. I think I've said this in the last 4 replies.

Kayla- How funny. I think I remember my mom saying that he looked like Zach at one point. Am I right, Mom?

Kedra- If I would have known how much I was missing out on by not being home schooled as a kid...I just thought they were nerds. haha But those "nerds" were having a lot of fun while we were stuck behind a desk!!

Tamra- The nature walks are fun, but there is a LOT of nature that comes with it. Like snakes, RATS (like the size of cats), roaches, lizards, huge spiders that have millions of baby spiders crawl out of them if you step on them. Okay, I'm giving myself the heebie jeebies. And, ugh!!!! I'm so glad we don't have tarantulas. At least I don't think we have them.

Marcy- I had to go and look it up. The cumulus clouds are the cute little puffy ones. But the big thunderhead ones like in my picture is actually called a cumulonimbus cloud. Too bad I'll forget this again.

I love your day in the life. I did this last year with our friends and it was fun. I laughed all the way through. You are a good momma.
