Jay and I were in Dallas this weekend and we ran into a family with a little boy who they had just adopted from Ethiopia. We were in a restaurant and when I started to order at the counter I was ignored because everyone turned to adore their favorite little Ethiopian patron. I think I said out loud, "We are adopting from there, too!" about 5 times. I was so excited that I could hardly contain myself. I went over to the parents and touched the little boy's arm and tears immediately sprang to my eyes. It's the closest I've come to my daughter and I can hardly wait to hold her in my arms. The parents were so gracious and didn't think I was crazy (which I'm sure I was borderline at the moment), but instead they congratulated us with sincere eyes. They know what this journey is like. It's like pregnancy, but nothing like it. The yearning to know her and the desire to protect her is unexplainable.
God, please protect and nurture our sweet Hadassah and give us the ability to trust and wait gracefully.

Oh Amy, my heart is melting with your sweet sentiment. I'm so excited you got to experience a part of sweet Hadassah. Soon she will be in your arms. I hope you had fun in Dallas. Did you eat at In-n-Out? We will not stop praying for you and Hadassah. We so look forward to meeting her.
I can't wait.
Oh this melts my heart. You're SO close!
I love meeting adoptive families. We met some with a couple of boys from ET at the beginning of our adoption and I pretty sure I overwhelmed her with questions and giddiness. :) Love it!
