CVS

Alright! I tried it out! I went to CVS this evening to see how I'd fare at being a coupon lady. I think that I did okay for my first try. Remember, I have only used about 5 coupons in my whole life. So this was a big deal for me. I went through the Sunday paper and found all the coupons I wanted for the stuff I would use. Then, I went through the CVS add to see what else I could save on and stack my coupons with. This all sounds so foreign to me. I had a guy friend in college tell me that I would not make a good wife (not to him...just in general) if I didn't use coupons. I thought that was a little brutal. Ha!
I bought lots of stuff (I know...not much detail) and spent $71.98 Before the total, I saved $29.34 by just buying "buy one get one free", "2/$5, or $3.00 off.... and I also saved $9 with coupons. But as an added bonus, I made $13.99 in Extra Bucks. So, I guess the way to look at it is that I got $109.32 worth of products for $71.98 PLUS I made $13.99 for my next visit. Please tell me that this is decent.
What I learned: I should go to the store the day that I get the adds...they sell out of good buys very quickly. Also, this is really kind of fun.

You did better than I did on my first CVS run. I only saved $12.09 and got $3 bucks back. I can't believe you've never used coupons before! I LOVE coupons; I just wish I took the time to get the paper and clip them. I'll have to try CVS again, and hopefully I'll do better. Congratulations!

Beware, it is completely addicting! I love coupons and CVS is favorite place to use them.

I used to use them all the time. Gone are the good ol' days of double and triple coupons! Now that was fun!!

The way I see it is that if you saved money that you normally would not have, then you did good! I agree with Jana, it is addicting. If you stick with couponing, the longer you do it, the more you learn to save.

YEAH AMY!!! It is addictive.... I have learned that double and triple coupons still exist - they are just not advertised well. My Meijers has double coupons all this week, I found out about it because I was looking at the bottom of the ad for the store hours and found the notice for this week.

I still haven't figured out how to get there early enough to get all the deals I want....I swear someone clears out our shelves on the first day!

Well my friends it takes choice and competition for coupons to work. Still waiting for the Wal-mart to open in Channing and be staffed by dairy cows. All kidding aside, I think that is super!

It scares my pants off to think of doing this... i'm still trying to get up the nerve. That's my confession.
I hate spending much money in any one setting. I seriously have a complex.
Help me, Amy!!!
