Argh!

Today started off great. We got school finished without complaints, Olivia took a morning nap (hip-hip-hooray!!), I got a shower before 10:00, Isaac ran and ran at P.E., the boys were exhausted and took an afternoon nap with Olivia, I also took a nap, and Isaac came in my room after his nap and asked this question, "So, since Santa Claus isn't real--does that mean the Tooth Fairy isn't real? Are you the Tooth Fairy?"
THEN--I sent the boys outside to play. I rarely let them go outside by themselves unless I'm in the kitchen watching out the window. But there was a recipe I needed to get online, so I stole a couple of minutes away from keeping an eye on them. When I walked back into the kitchen, I looked out the window and saw my kinda-sorta grumpy neighbor talking to them (she was in her doorway and they were by her door). Uh-oh. I called them in and asked what had happened. "We were chasing a lizard and picked up the (neighbors) wood chips and threw them at it." So, she asked them to please quit throwing rocks at her house. Okay, don't do that again and go out and play.
Josiah comes in, "Mom, I just ate an ant. It went in my mouth and down to my tummy like this (he demonstrates)." Josiah David! That is disgusting. Do NOT eat bugs. Yes ma'am.
And for the finale--As I was cooking, I could hear the boys playing with sidewalk chalk. They were right by our house, so I was not concerned. I took some trash out to the garbage can and walked right past them. I wasn't really paying attention to what they were doing. Isaac says, "Look, Mom! We are making this all pink." I look up and see that they had just chalked all over the side of the house!!! They had even stood up on the bench to reach the higher parts. AAAHHH!!! Why didn't my kinda-sorta grouchy neighbor come out and gripe at them then?? I sprayed it off and sent the boys out with rags to clean the rest up. It's still kinda-sorta stained. Great! I wasn't laughing today. It wasn't cute enough to deserve a picture--not even for my blog.

I am still smiling - I know that sounds mean, but really, it seems like I have these days ALL THE TIME! I want to know how you answered the Santa Claus/Tooth Fairy question...

I'm laughing HYSTERICALLY! Need I remind you HOW MANY times our poor apartment manager & I had to pick up the bricks and re-stack them from you and your younger brothers making your brick swimming pool?????
ROFL!!!!!
Just think how grouchy you would have been if you hadn't gotten than nap!

Later you'll wish you had taken pictures....just saying.
Maybe tomorrow they'll turn back into your little angels. I hope so!!

Hang in there! At least it was the kind of day you can still post about...even without pictures. I had an ARGH day with my teenagers...but it wouldn't be wise to write about it on the internet!!!! :)

They must be missing Auntie Rachel and Sweet Sadie. They are acting out in rebellion against our leaving. At least the morning was good and you got a nap. Bonus!

Ok I'm laughing, not at you, but I could hear you saying "Josiah David, we do not eat bugs!" I miss you sweet Amy and your silly boys. All in the day as a mommy!!! I love it.

I'm with Kara - I can totally hear your voice telling Josiah not to eat bugs. I think I will be telling Ryan that at some point. You can laugh then since I am laughing now. :) Oh we miss you guys!!!!

Tamra- Josiah did it again today. Maybe I'll laugh when he's 20!

Brea- Yeah, I think I'll do that tonight!

Alexis- Hmmm....I keep hoping it will get easier. But my third child has just discovered her personality. She's not quiet, I can tell you that! ha

Jean- I am. I told myself that today.

Dawn- I was still sleeping. But when I finally came to, I asked him what he thought and what he wanted the answer to be. He pointed at me, shook his head up and down, and gave me an "I figured it out" kind of grin. So, I just let him figure it out. And then I told him to not tell his brother. :)
I thought it would all last a little bit longer!!!

Mom- Hahahahahhaha! I do remember that. I think I remember him cursing under his breath and tossing bricks back into his pile. Why did he care? Oh, maybe he mowed over there. OOPs!

Sandra- I should have taken pictures just to show them one day.

Katy- You made me laugh out loud. I guess I need to call you and hear about your day. You are the mom that is a step ahead of me and gives me warnings. :) I need that!!!

Rachel- Olivia looked at a picture of Sadie today and said, "A-ie". Y'all are missed.

Holly- That's right, they take after their father. Oh wait! Mom just told everyone of my destructive behavior as a child.

Kara- Ha! Yes, I think I did actually laugh after Josiah left the room.

Mindy- He brought in millipedes the other day. I said, "Josiah David!! Get those out of the house!"
