I Want To Ride My Bicycle, I Want To Ride My Bike

Jay has been wanting a new bike for some time now. Today at the office, he was talking to our assistant pastor about getting a new bike. A lady who had come into the office overheard their conversation and said, "My husband has a bike in our garage that has never been ridden and has been sitting there for 5 years. I'll go get it for you."
If you know Jay, you know that he thought he was just handed a million dollars. I think that his car will be parked in our driveway for awhile now.

It's exactly what he wanted.

As happy as he was on his 7th birthday.

I had to leave the house at the same time as him, and caught him about to cross the highway. I think he was trying to ignore me. I was probably embarrassing him (like a mom who tries to give her 12 year old boy a kiss when she drops him off at school).

This is absolutely hysterical - only Jay! I would have loved to hear what he was thinking as you took his picture crossing the highway! Ha! I got caught up on your other posts - yuck - a mole! I hope for your sake their bug/insect fetish is over soon! Cute mom thoughts! Check your email from about a week ago. Miss you guys!

I did a snort. This is so wonderfully Jay. I am so glad he finally got his bike. He was so ignoring you. I wish I could be there to yell something embarrassing out the window. I wish I could just be there. Miss you guys.

for the record - i wasn't embarrassed; I was actually very proud. I was, however, watching the six lanes of cars fly by in hopes they would heed the little lights above the intersection. :)

Love it, love it, love it. I laughed so hard at you stalking him taking pictures. He does look like a little boy who did just get a million bucks!

What a great bike!!! That is so cool. Did you do a little whoohoo dance? I think God loves to surprise us! I am so excited for you!

THAT'S the kind of bike I want---except in girl-type. YAY JAY!!! I love it! And it's so nice and shiny and RED!!!!

Oh my goodness!!! Jay, please be careful crossing that busy highway.
Amy, you may have to follow him to the crossing each day (be the crossing guard). What did the kids say or do?

I like your red bicycle, Jay. I also like that it was free, and that the look on your face is priceless.

What I love so much is that the arrow on the sign is pointing directly at him! And Jay, this sounds so much like Kevin. Must be a Wright thang!

Way to go Jay! I think that bike fits you perfectly. I also love your Mom's comment, as she is still looking after you at 29 :)

Dawn- What email are you talking about? I'm curious to know.

Rachel- I am sure that you did snort. I can hear it from here.

Jay- Why did you have to ruin it for us? I like thinking that you might have been embarrassed! :)

Marcy- I was laughing at myself while I was stalking him, ha!

Katy- I know, God really does love stuff like that, huh?

Kayla- I want one now. And this is the kind of bike that everyone rides down here. When we first visited, I laughed when I saw someone riding one on the beach. But I think that they are called beach bikes or something like that. Very fun!

Mom- And red is his favorite color! :)

Jean- The kids were ready to jump on their bikes and have a little ride. Now if only we can get Isaac to learn to ride without his training wheels!!!

Lindsey- He was pumped!!

Alexis- I had to go back and look at the photo. That is so funny! And, yes. Jay and Kevin must be distant, giddy cousins.

Tamra- Now he wants a basket. And his mom trained him well, because he is very cautious.

All - When my pal Mike helps me find a basket and a bell for my sweet new ride, we will post pictures. It will be off the charts.

Good work, Zach. It's difficult to be a part of the blogosphere. I didn't want to help Ricky.
