Dinner Out Back

The boys and I had dinner on our back porch tonight. It was so peaceful.

The fall leaves are almost gone.

Reading Time

I have tried to convert my boys' nap time to reading (quiet) time. Well, actually, they have not been taking naps for awhile now, so maybe I tried to ADD a reading time. The first couple of days that I tried this, I went up to their room with them and read my own books while they read their own books. Today, we were not getting along (to put it lightly) so I sent them upstairs to fend for themselves. When I left, they were reading together on Isaac's bed. I could hear them whispering and occasionally getting up (I figured they were going for more books) but for the most part, they were very quiet.
After awhile, Isaac came downstairs for something. He was so excited telling me all about a track that they had made for their cars. I was halfway listening. The day went on and I had not gone up to their room. After dinner, this is what I found.

Their room is HUGE, so these pictures just do not do it justice. There was no walking room at all! Of course, I grabbed my camera. But what I really wanted to do was fall on the bed and cry. It seems that they have much, much more energy than I.
I'm not giving up on reading time. I'm not!

Sleep Tight

My babies are sleeping. It's so peaceful. I don't think that I have any pictures of Olivia sleeping in her bed, but tonight I had to get one. She usually sleeps with Josiah's Nemo pants but tonight she chose her first toy to sleep with. It is a dragon puppet. She wouldn't let go of it and I think that holding it made her feel better. If you think of it, pray for Liv. I think that she has another ear infection...which means we will probably be taking her to get tubes put in and adenoids removed. :( This is when it's tough to be a mom.

She is a good sleeper. Olivia means "peaceful".

I love this guy. He wore two sets of pajamas tonight. He wanted to wear the "shark" pajamas but decided he needed some long-sleeved pajamas on too, "just in case it is cold in the morning". We live in Florida...the boys don't even have comforters on their beds because it is too hot. He was sweating when I checked on him. :) But it really is cold outside.

Ahhh...he is so busy. But right now, he is still. His lips look the same as they did in his sonogram picture. I never knew how much joy my little Josiah would bring to me.

I went up to Josiah's room to take him to the bathroom (still working on potty training at night). I pulled back his blanket and this is what I found. HA! He has a cat, a book, and a car. I guess that he didn't like his toy that he chose for bedtime, so he got out of bed and snuck these under the covers.

The Guys (3rd Post tonight...in case you missed any)

3 Sets of Hands (Josiah is under the piano)

Josiah has started taking piano lessons from Jay. He takes it very seriously.

Isaac's cup :)

The boys like to stick marshmallows to the bottom of the straw and turn the straw around and eat them off. By the way, this is your hot chocolate recipe, Auntie J. :) Yum Yum!!

Catching Up Part 2

The boys got to make lots of crafts while Jay was home. Olivia saw these fish on the refrigerator and wanted to eat the "bubbles". She was upset when Jay told her "no".

Proud Ike

Notice Josiah trying to grab an entire handful of sequins.

Sweet girl. She did not feel well today.

This afternoon, the boys caught a little bit of Mr. Rogers on t.v. He was showing how to can orange juice. Jay had just brought some oranges home from a lady that went to South Florida for Thanksgiving. So, the boys wanted those oranges for a snack. While they were chowing down, I started "squeezing" an orange with a knife. I cut my pinkie finger down to the bone. Ugh! It makes me queasy just thinking about it. Speaking of oranges...Josiah took the oranges and made them into muscles...

He'll love me for this picture one day!

Catching Up

We had such a great Thanksgiving break. It was so nice to have Jay home and have lots and lots of family time. Today we got back to our routine and boy was it hard! This morning was nice and calm but by the afternoon...whew!!! The kids were all C.R.A.N.K.Y. They've been in bed for awhile now. Jay is about to go to Maggie Moo's to reward us for making it through a rough parenting night. :) I'm excited!

This is for you, Zach! Twas good!
