Quote of the Day (Post 2)

Isaac: "Hey, Mom...your hair looks kinda red."

My thought: *sigh*

Sweet Gift, Sports, And Just Plain Tuckered Out

Jay and I are apart of a small group that just started meeting a few weeks ago. We've had such a great time with the adults, and the kids get to come and have a great time with their friends. But this week Olivia and I were not feeling very well, so we had to miss out. Isaac and Josiah felt terrible that we didn't get to join in on the fun, so on the way home, the boys told Jay that they thought I should have some chocolate and a pink flower from Wal-Mart. (They have been very well trained :))The boys watched Adam Lambert with me while Jay snuck (sneaked?) away to purchase that pink flower. I wish you could have seen the boys faces. They were so excited that they thought of my surprise gift. Thanks guys! I'm one lucky lady!

T-ball practice started last night!! What fun! Sorry grandparents, no zoom lens here.

Olivia mainly sat in my lap with her double ear infections. But after awhile, she got up to join in on Josiah's fun. They were catching love bugs and putting them in a bug container. Great entertainment! I think I watched them more than I watched Isaac, ha!

Isaac's up to bat! You can see Josiah in the background catching bugs with his new friends.

And this is from today. Isaac had P.E. and Daddy got to come with us! We played hard, and Olivia fell asleep on the way home. She makes me smile.

I think Isaac is worn out, too.

But they'll perk up for a photo!

I Want To Ride My Bicycle, I Want To Ride My Bike

Jay has been wanting a new bike for some time now. Today at the office, he was talking to our assistant pastor about getting a new bike. A lady who had come into the office overheard their conversation and said, "My husband has a bike in our garage that has never been ridden and has been sitting there for 5 years. I'll go get it for you."
If you know Jay, you know that he thought he was just handed a million dollars. I think that his car will be parked in our driveway for awhile now.

It's exactly what he wanted.

As happy as he was on his 7th birthday.

I had to leave the house at the same time as him, and caught him about to cross the highway. I think he was trying to ignore me. I was probably embarrassing him (like a mom who tries to give her 12 year old boy a kiss when she drops him off at school).

Furry and Slimy Friends (Post 2)

Our boys used to be so afraid of little critters. When we first moved here, Isaac wouldn't go outside to play because he was so terrified of lizards (they are everywhere...the grass looks like it's moving because so many lizards shuffle around when you walk by). Slowly, they have started adapting. Today was a milestone for both boys. First, our neighbor stopped by to show us what she found.

There you go Josiah, wipe your little nose.

This is a mole that her sister found outside of their back door. I've never seen a mole in person. I think it looks like a cartoon character. They had a burial.

Isaac brought this earthworm into our house. I told him to get it out!! But lately they have been playing with millipedes, grasshoppers, worms, and lizards. Josiah caught his first lizard today (then stepped on it because he said the lizard told him it wanted to die...we had a big talk) and Isaac actually touched it.

But tonight, the funniest thing happened. The neighborhood kids were all hanging out together trying to capture lizards. They caught one, but it got loose by our door. Josiah had his rain boots by the door and decided to put them on. I told him to shake them out just in case the lizard got inside of them. All of a sudden, he starts screaming. "The lizard is in my boot! The lizard is in my boot!" I ran over and helped him shake his boot, thinking that he was probably just a little paranoid. I took the boot off of him and out popped a HUGE black lizard ( different from the one that they caught)! I laughed so hard and Josiah laughed nervously. What a trip. Never a dull moment.

I Will Eat Them Sam I Am

Isaac has been working very hard on reading this year. He's been practicing by using 1st grade readers. But he finally got to read a real live book. And his first book was Green Eggs and Ham. So today he had a breakfast of green eggs and bacon. :)

Josiah was begging me tonight to make him some more of those green eggs tomorrow!

?? Question Of The Day ??

We were eating at Chili's and our waiter had earrings. Within earshot of the waiter, Josiah asks, "Why does he have earrings in his ears?"

Mom's thought: "Whew! At least that is strange."

Quote of the Day

Josiah said, "Mom, I see some really cool guys that have statues!"

Translation: "Mom, I see some really cool guys that have tattoos!"

Thought from Mom: Oh great! He thinks that's cool.

The Roller Coaster Continues

Well, Olivia has a bad cough with lots of congestion, so the doctor pushed her surgery date back to May 7th. I was ready, had no worries, babysitters lined up, ready to go through with it. I guess that everything happens for a reason, which now makes me worry.
All of our kids have a terrible cough due to allergies. Isaac's asthma is pretty bad right now. So I wouldn't mind it one bit if you all might remember to pray for our clan.

Miniature Cinderella (Post 3)

Where did it go?

Help!

Almost...

Ahh.

Welcome Home! (Post 2)

The boys welcomed Jay home with stick streamers. Jay even gave a speech, "Thank you for such a warm welcome into your complex."

Mmm Mmm Good!

Breakfast time with Olivia is so much fun!

I know that there has been a lot of back and forth with this, but we are pretty positive that Olivia will have tubes in her ears on Thursday. Jay is taking her to her pre-op appointment today. She has a cough, but if it's not a problem, then hopefully she'll be hearing like new in a few days. :)

She loves to sit on this little doll couch and read her books.

Isaac learned how to shake the camera while taking pictures. Fun effect. :)

We couldn't get a good shot of Isaac singing, so the screen was plan B.
