Trick-or-Treat

We had a great night...here are the pictures!

Cute Tink Toosh

The boys saw this in the box from the Lowe's and decided that Olivia HAD to wear it tonight. I thought that it might be a bit too cold for her (she has ANOTHER ear infection) so she wore it around the house for a bit.

Please, Daddy?

It worked!

Now, take me over there.

Ready for a fun night!

Mr. Incredible needs a rest.

Hero Brothers

The McDonald's had us over for hot dogs. Both boys had 2. :)

This is pretty much what Ellie and Isaac did the whole time.

Olivia Has Brothers...And I Understand

I had three brothers. We all wrestled. I'm just not sure that it started at 13 months...AAHHH...14 months!!!! What? I can't believe that she is another month older and I didn't realize it until now!!
Anyway, Isaac was really gentle with her but it was so funny to watch. And yes, Isaac has lived as Mr. Incredible for 2 straight days...all day!!!

Her tongue was out the whole time.

This made his day. He said, "I think that she loves me!"

Josiah had to join in on the fun.

Shoes and Toes

Josiah came around the corner wearing my shoes today. Isaac joined in on the fun and said that he didn't need socks because Daddy doesn't wear socks with those shoes. And no, I don't wear socks with the shoes Josiah has on either. Take notice of Josiah's bruised up legs. Those bruises are probably all from today. :) And isn't Isaac growing up? I can't get over how tall he is getting. Josiah is, too. You can't really tell by this picture, but he's not even a head shorter than Isaac. In fact, the shirt that Josiah is wearing, was kind of big on Isaac last year. And the shirt that Isaac is wearing, came from the big boy section in Old Navy (and it's not the XS size...it's the S size!!!!)

I'm so excited that I have a little girl whose toenails I can paint. The boys helped pick out her first color. Of course, we were lucky to get one coat on her little nails and Jay had to help out. But she LOVES it! She is definitely a girlie girl. She may even be a Daddy's girl. I know that for sure Jay is a girl's Daddy. Something about a little finger being wrapped around something....

The Cross

Jay asked me to take some pictures of the boys carrying the cross so that they could put it up on the screen when it is time for children's church. I thought that you all might like to see some of the pictures that didn't make the cut.
The boys both enjoy being in the spotlight for different reasons. Isaac wants to be praised...Josiah wants to be laughed at. I think that both are good reasons. :)

A little tired...and a little marching...

A little posing...and a little experimenting....

A sweet smile...and a baby bird...

And finally...we are all on the same page!!!!

The Airshow, by Jay

Today the boys and I went with some friends, Ross and Buffy and their two boys, to the air show.  This was a particularly exciting opportunity because the Blue Angels, the Navy's flight demonstration squadron was the premiere act.  Plus, having watched Top Gun many, many, many times, I was eager to experience the jets firsthand.

I was a bit unsure whether to take the boys because the past two years on the fourth of July Isaac has freaked out during the fireworks.  So I thought six F/A-18 Hornets might freak him out a little too.  I was right.

When we arrived at the base, we watched a jet doing some serious moves, all of which Ross, my pilot friend, was narrating to me - (I forgot all the cool, aviation words except minimum radius turn).  Isaac did really well with this jet screaming overhead, so I was encouraged.

We took our seats and were able to watch some really great stunt fliers.  Patty Wagstaff was one of the first pilots we watched - she was stinking awesome!  Besides doing loops and making the plane flip around like a fish out of water, she flew straight up in the air and cut the engine off.  Then, she did a free fall and re-started the engine in time to pull up and not crash.

The terror ensued when two barnstormers played a game of cat and mouse.  While they were flying around pyrotechnic explosions began to go off on the runway.  This shook the ground and Isaac lost it.  (Poor guy.)  Anyway, the explosions were there to produce smoke so the planes could fly through it which was very, very impressive.  But every time an explosion went off, Isaac lost it.  Thanks to Ross who said he forgot to tell Isaac about the explosions and let Isaac hit him on the chin for punishment.  This made Isaac giggle.

After the dramatic explosions, the Blue Angels came out and flew an awesome show.  Josiah had to go potty right in the middle of the Blue Angels Show - this is typical Josiah.  It turned out to be the best time to go to the restroom because everyone was watching the show.  :)
All in all, it was an awesome day!
