Lots and Lots of Pictures

These first two pictures are from a couple of days ago. I usually don't let the boys take a bath because they get too dirty. I don't want to clean my bathtub every day, so they have to take a shower. But on this day, they not only got to take a bath, they got to take a bath with their favorite sister. :)
You can click on the picture to make it bigger, by the way. I just made them small so that they would load faster.

Poor Liv had to breathe out of her mouth because of allergies.

The rest of the pictures are all from today.

We eat well around here. :)

With this look, I can't help but smile.

She loves to pass out kisses. She even tries to kiss strangers.

I think this kiss was turning into a bite. Watch out!!

Their difference in height really struck me in this picture. I wish you could watch the boys dote on their baby sister.

Josiah usually likes to do his own thing.

Isaac accidentally hurt Olivia. I laughed when I uploaded the pictures and saw the look of guilt in Isaac's eyes.

Still working on tying himself up.

What's going on?

Oh, a balloon got away!
I normally wouldn't let the boys do this...but I was so glad to have them entertained while I played with my camera. It also entertained me!

Haha! His knee got stuck. He thought his life was over.

Big brother came to the rescue.

I wonder where Isaac is...hmmm...maybe he's behind the couch with the balloons sticking up above it.

Josiah's the seeker...counting as he walks with his eyes closed. This could explain most of the bruises on his body.

I think watching babies try to stand up is one of the cutest things.

Check ya' later!!

Prince Josiah

That's what we call him since he's named after King Josiah in the Bible. King Josiah was a prince at one time. :) I always wonder if my boys are anything like their namesakes...Isaac son of Abraham, and King Josiah.
Did the Isaac of the Bible ask 5,000 questions a day? Did he tell his mom that he will always want to cuddle with her? Did he make sure that everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing? Did he love to be with people?
Did King Josiah make people laugh without even knowing he was funny? Did he do things very slowly? Did completely enjoy life? Did he not like to hug? Did his smile melt his mother's heart?

Well, little Prince is sick tonight. He has a cough that is keeping him up. We've tried lots of different things to help him out. Poor guy! He's completely exhausted. But the reason I'm really posting about Josiah, is because I have the quote of the day from him. Here it goes:
Today, he and Isaac were playing with our little neighbor. I guess that they ran out of things to entertain themselves with, so Josiah gave a suggestion. He said, "Do y'all want to watch our plants grow?" Ha! I love my little guy.

I think I need to write down random quotes from the day and post them each week. One day I'll do that. :) But for now, I'm going to go hold Josiah in his bed so that his cough will calm down.

Driveway Fun

What fun is sidewalk chalk without chalking all the way into the street?

I wonder what our kind of sort of grumpy neighbors thought of us chalking the shared driveway. Maybe we brightened their day. ha! But, honestly, I really did expect rain.
Sweet Olivia had her 18 month check-up today. She had 2 shots, but it hasn't seemed to phase her--usually her legs are so sore that we can't even touch them without her crying. :(
We tried out a new pediatrician and I really liked her!! She gave us a nose spray to try out for Liv and see if it will help clear out the fluid in her ears. We have another surgery date scheduled for her with her ENT (we ended up canceling last time because she started improving), but maybe we can even cancel again! The pediatrician seemed very positive about her ears clearing up. She also set us up with a speech therapist to help Livie start forming words. She has been hearing as if under water these last few months, so her speech is a little behind. But our pediatrician was also very positive about it all and says she should be talking like a champ by 2 years of age. The pediatrician also pointed out that Liv's right eye is a little bit lazy...not bad, but a little. Hmmm...I haven't noticed it, but we might have a little pink pirate in our house for a few weeks. Gosh, what an information filled office visit!!

Sidewalk chalk brings out other kids. Usually our kids play outside by themselves. We have a sweet little neighbor that is very shy, but loves to come out and play with Olivia. The boys can be too overwhelming for her :) Well, tonight she had a friend visiting her from down the street. Her friend was NOT shy. Wow! Jay and I were completely entertained. And our boys loved every minute of being told what to do--it doesn't matter, as long as they have someone to play with.

Hey! There's me! And my favorite gal in the whole wide world!
What fun. If you don't have a daughter, come and play with mine. :)

I love my family.

The Sea Shell!

As of late, we have been enjoying our Sunday evening services at church. (This is Jay, by the way.) So, this Sunday evening we came home from church. Amy put Olivia in bed, and I whipped up some dinner for Isaac. (Josiah had already eaten before church). Anyway, the boys and I were enjoying some nice 'man' conversation. You know the sort: "Dad, where does chocolate milk come from? Does God sleep? What does Jesus' hypostatic union with mankind imply for our daily living?" As we waxed eloquently a knock came at our kitchen window - whoo - it was kind of scary. I opened the blinds, and we discovered our neighbor Stephanie shouting that the Space Shuttle just launched. Wow - we were excited. So, the boys and I ran outside, and as we did so, I yelled at Amy (who was busy putting Olivia to sleep) that the space shuttle had been launched. The boys and I watched the shuttle streak across the beautiful evening sky. It was amazing! After watching for a few seconds, we noticed the fuel tanks being separated from the main part of the craft. Unbelievable. This whole time I'm wondering if Amy was going to come out and take a picture of this thing. Josiah even went back in and yelled at mom, "the space shuttle, mom! The space shuttle!"
A few minutes later, Amy came down stairs and said what's going on? We told her about the space shuttle that had by now disappeared into the earth's stratosphere and beyond. She was a little disappointed because she heard Josiah shouting but thought he said, "I found a sea shell!" :)
Here is a picture of the smoke trail left by the shuttle taken about five minutes after the shuttle passed by.

Doing Big Things

Why do kids have to grow up so fast? Here are our #2 and #3 doing big things.

Emailing Gee (my mom)...I think he was making sure she had some Whales (goldfish like crackers) in her pantry for when he comes to visit.

Miss Liv sitting in the tall chair...just being silly.

I love her hoot owl pajamas.
