The Beach and 50 Degrees

On Thursday, we went to the beach.  It was about 50 degrees..until we left.

Isaac was all about seashell collecting.

Josiah really wanted to feed the seagulls, but he was a little afraid of them.

Olivia enjoyed some nice sand-water.  She kept sticking the straw down in the sand and then putting it back in the cup to take a drink.  She liked it.  Third child.

I held food over my head and freaked out my family.  Sorry, Jay!!

It was a little chilly, but such a great time!

I love the part about Olivia drinking sand/water through a straw! ha! Do you remember feeding the seagulls when you were younger than Josiah? You held the food over your head for them to eat.
Of course, you didn't say seagull. You said a 2-year-old Southern accent version---see'gul. We imitated you for months on that one!

What a beautiful place--we definitely went to the wrong side of Florida when we were there. If we ever come back, we want to go to your beach!!

It is so neat that you are by the beach! You do such wonderful things with your kids.
i think it is funny that you were testing the birds...usually Jay is the "funny guy!"

Looks like fun!! A stroll on the beach! Is it still like vacationing or is it just home now?

As We Are said...

Kyle and I were just talking about how fun it would be to take the kids to a beach. What fun that you are so close to one!

Amy, you are really brave holding food for a seagull! Olivia is very adaptable. Looks like lots of fun!

Mom- I do remember feeding the seagulls. And I was YOUNGER than Josiah?? I remember it all like yesterday. Crazy.

Marcy- And you know what? We just discovered this beach. Well, it's already been discovered, but WE just figured out how much better it is than the one that we normally go to. The sand is much whiter and much softer. Come, we'll take you! :)

Dawn- We really should go more often. But it does take about 45 minutes to get there...okay, okay. I know that is better than 15 hours...
Are you kidding? Jay would never do something like feed a seagull. He was right with the kids begging me to cut it out. haha

Katy- It's kind of the in-between stage. Not quite like home, but not quite vacationing. But by the summer when we want to be at the beach to cool off, it will definitely become home to us. :)

Tamra- I just KNOW that we will get to take you guys to the beach one day. We will wait patiently.

Jean- The seagulls were nice. They were just saying, "Mine, mine, mine."

Amy, I'm with Jay. I would have been freaking out also :) Something about seeing that movie "The Birds" when I was a little girl! hahaha I loved the picture of Josiah.

Ha. I'm going to have to blame this one on Alfred Hitchcock too. The images of those birds attacking the people kept running through my mind.

Ok...I re-thought how old you were. I think David was about 4 months old. That would make you Josiah's age....I think.

Tammy and Jay- It's okay, it's just a movie. And weren't those birds black birds?? :)

Mom- Well, I do remember it vividly. I can even remember certain conversations that I had with people. And I remember the lady at the motel (not hotel, ha) that told us the birds could bite our hands if we weren't careful. I think that we were feeding them bologna.
