Texas Thanksgiving

Last Saturday, Jay and I decided that we would make a whirlwind trip back to Texas for Thanksgiving. After Jay got home from church on Sunday night, the kids and I were waiting in the car for our departure. After about 4 hours of driving, I thought that it might not be too late to turn back around. haha But we pushed ahead and I'm so glad that we did.
We stopped in Mobile, AL the first night and then went on to Dallas the next day. We had planned on staying the night in Dallas, but our hotel stay in Mobile was so awful (Olivia has never slept with us.) that we figured it would be much easier to drive on to Amarillo while the kids were sleeping in the car. We made a pleasant, unplanned stop for dinner and a quick visit with our great friends the Krahn's and Katy Nelson and some of her family. We loaded back up into our toy explosion car and set off for Amarillo. We arrived at Jay's parents' house at 1:00 am (central time). We were exhausted and so happy to see family!

That is so fun! I'm talking about the driving. HA! I know it was hard but really worth it. So gald you made it home safe and still in tact. Recovery takes about 2 weeks. I'll check on you then! FUN! FUN! FUN!

I never realized how much alike Jay and his brother look until just now. Crazy! Can't wait to see the rest of the pics!

Thanks for sacrificing your sleep and sanity to drive across the US for Thanksgiving. We are so grateful you came to TX. I loved all the hugs, kisses, giggles, talking, yelling, reading, eating, and FUN!
