Face Paint

Tonight we went to Chick-Fil-A, again! I know, we go there too much. But you will just have to get past it, it's our favorite place when Jay is away.
A lady was doing face paintings and making balloon animals while we were there. The boys decided that they both wanted a shark painting. They are so funny how they always do the same thing. They even dress themselves alike. They are little buddies.
While I'm at it, I thought that I'd post a conversation between Isaac and Josiah. Josiah makes up stories and also tells stories (lies). But the stories are so funny and imaginative that it's hard not to laugh! Just tonight, he came downstairs after I'd put him to bed and I was on the phone with Mom. He said, "Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um....I had to wash my hands because there was a bug on it." Mom and I had a good laugh...he just wanted to get out of bed and that's the best he could come up with.
Okay...so the conversation between Isaac and Josiah goes (side note: Isaac is the hand washing cop):
Isaac: "Josiah, did you wash your hands after your snack?"
Josiah: "Yes."
Isaac: "No you didn't. I didn't see you go in the bathroom."
Josiah: "I washed them in the kitchen."
Isaac: "You can't reach the kitchen sink, Josiah."
Josiah: "I used a drumstick to turn the sink on."
Isaac: ...dumbfounded.
Me: Impressed.

Cockadoodledoo

We all get the biggest kick out of Olivia's hair when her hairband falls out. Isaac thinks that she looks like a rooster. I think that she is a pretty cute rooster.

Hey baby girl, I like your rooster hair.

Cluck, cluck, cluck.

Stop it, Mom! I'm a princess, not a rooster.

Gee whiz, Isaac, I'm sure glad that you're not a girl!!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of home school for our family. Isaac woke up very early so I thought that we should get a head start before Josiah and Olivia wanted to be in the middle of everything. We got math done and some reading before Josiah came down the stairs. Josiah joined in the reading before we had breakfast. As soon as breakfast was over, the boys were eager to get started. So....let's just say that our first day was finished by 9:00! Josiah is having fun because he can be a lot more involved this year.
After school, I got the boys dressed (ha) and we went to the library for story time. It was great! They sing songs, tell stories, read books and do a craft. Today the theme was music. So, all the books were about music, they sang a song while they played an egg shaker, and they made a maraca to take home. The boys and Olivia had so much fun. As an added bonus, our friends were there.
This year we will go to the library on Monday, I have a Bible study on Tuesday mornings while the kids will play with their friends, the kids go with me to the YMCA on Wednesday nights while Jay is at church, and we have P.E. on Thursdays. And homeschool in between. :)

The boys hard at work.

Josiah's coloring page.

Some of Isaac's curriculum.

Josiah's book from Nana and Papa....thanks for the books!! They are a big help!

Singing the "getting the wiggles out" song.

Olivia even had a shaker...and cried when she had to give it back. :(

The buddies.

Isaac's first day of school picture. :)

And his wigglier tooth.

By the way, did anyone else get asked tough questions about the tooth fairy...like, "Why does she want the teeth?" And, "Where does she take the teeth? Finally, "What does she do with the teeth when she takes them there?"
I finally settled for, "We'll have to look that up on the computer when we get home. :)

Superheroes

Wouldn't this face normally scare a one-year-old? I would think so, but Olivia gets the biggest kick out of it. Every time she sees Isaac coming close to her while wearing the mask, she starts squealing and can't control herself. It's hilarious.

She loves to stand at the bottom of the stairs while the boys sit at the top and call her up. She thinks that the boys are the best thing in the world!

They really are her superheroes!

Of course, she is pretty powerful herself and can take them down! Get him, Liv!!

Grandparents Day and Isaac Helping Out

This morning I woke up to find that Isaac had set the table for breakfast. He was so proud that I had to take a picture. Yes, he was up before me and yes, the table was not cleaned off last night. :) Thanks Ike!!
Today is Grandparent's Day. Well, I haven't actually looked at the calendar to confirm this, but the KidZone workers at the YMCA told me that it was. Anyway, yesterday I took Isaac and Josiah to the YMCA while I worked out. They were so excited to show me what they had made and wanted to mail them to their grandparents. I will have to mail them later but thought that Buff, Gee, Papa and Nana would like to have a preview. :) The note on the hand print heart says, "Grandparents are special
In each and every way
I'm thankful that you're mine
Every single day!"
Happy Grandparent's Day and we love you!!

Baby Lindsey

My very first baby doll was Baby Lindsey. Today, Olivia really took to her. I have been teaching Olivia how to hug a baby doll and say, "Oh, sweet baby!" It was so fun when I walked into the room this evening, Olivia was holding Lindsey, giving her a hug, and saying, "Ahaubaauuu!"

Hugging the wrong end.

Baby Lindsey is kind of heavy for a one year old.

I remember doing this...playing with Lindsey's eyelashes...and I chewed on her fingers...hmmmmm.

Oh, sweet baby. OR "AAHbaauuaaa!"
