Since Olivia's hair has been in her face, I decided that she needed some itsy-bitsy hair bows for her itsy-bitsy self. While I was at the Fall Festival the other day, I bought a bow like these and thought, "Hey, I can make those!!!" They look so simple and easy to make. Tonight I decided to take on the project. Let's just say that I'm typing with two fingers up in the air (because of blisters from the glue gun) and a cramp in my right hand. All this to say, "THANK YOU" to all of those who have every made or bought hair bows for Olivia!! I will probably never make these again and really appreciate all of the work that you all have put into making my daughter stylish. :)

Oh yes you will make more bows! When Olivia needs a new color you will! They are sooo cute too! I did notice there was brown in everyone!
Sorry about your fingers.
We will miss you this weekend!
Oh, I like how small those ones are. Craig makes fun of the BIG Texas bows and swears if we ever have a girl, she will NOT wears them. I like yours!
Those are so cute! Good job Amy!
Brea
Way to go! Ok, so now that you are started, I have 2 tubs of ribbon to send you! HA! Just kidding.
Those are really cute.
Good job, Amy! Trust me on this one...having a girl precludes that you will be making lots of things you never thought you'd make. You better just hope she's not like her Mumzie and asks for everything the night before.
i want to see them in her hair!!! so cute!
Terry~ Only a few of them are brown...ha! Unfortunately, Olivia has to wear colors that I pick for her and I love black and brown...she gets to wear some pink. :)
Marcy~ I must admit that I love big fat hair bows. But I only like them up to a certain age. We've passed that age.
Brea~ Thanks, you are always so encouraging to me!
Tamra~ And to think that I thought I could maybe make the big hair bows that you make! I give you TONS of credit...not only do you work hard, you are great at it!
Mom~ I'm thinking that Josiah is my "night before" kid. :)
Mendi~ I'm afraid to admit that they are finished!!
Emily~ She actually wore one today and was the hit of the YMCA Kid Zone!!! Ha Ha! I'll take a picture of her with them.
Too cute! The more you make the easier it gets! You do know you can get LOW Temp. glue guns?
You've passed the big bow stage?!?! What?!
You did an awesome job, I'm very impressed ;)
I just saw some of these at Target and had the exact same thought! I have totally been planning on making some, but where did you find the barrettes? (And after your story, I'm not too sure I want to try anymore!)
Ok - I didn't look close enough!!! I'm so embarrassed....I thought it was just the ribbon rolls and then I saw how you did them - I should have looked closer - they are cute - REALLY!!!
so then I'll just delete my foot in my mouth comment!
Sandra~ I do have a low temp glue gun but couldn't find the glue sticks last night. And I don't like to wait once I get an idea in my head.
Lindsey~ Not smack dab in the middle of her forehead..but on the side...oh so cute!
Kara~ Thanks!!
Jennifer~ I found the barretts in Target by the hair products. Of course, I am thinking that they might not be the right kind. They kind of stretch out and fall out of her fine hair a little too much! Also, if you use a low temp glue gun, it would make the project much, much easier!!
Mindy~ Ha ha! I love you! I know exactly what you mean. They do look like those little ribbon rolls. By the way, there is a girl that lives here that reminds me SO MUCH of you! It makes me feel at home when I'm around her. :)
Good job! I have made ALOT of those sweet bows! They are fun! I know you will be adventurous again! I am so glad you were able to come to dinner last night! Julie
You did a great job and get a shout-out for trying! I made Emily some little sundresses when she was two. I worked SO hard at them (I'm not a seamstress!), and they were really cure, and they came apart the first time I washed them!!
The ones I saw had a tiny piece of foam glued to the inside of the barrette to keep it from slipping off the hair. (It looked like the foam they sell at Hobby Lobby in the VBS supplies, you know, the kind they also make the 3-D stickers out of?)
